INT: A church. Reverend Steven Phelps (Douglas) is sitting on a pew with a clipboard in his lap. He is writing something.

STEVEN
Father. Help me to write this sermon. I want to write but my brain doesnt seem to be working.

Steven stares at the paper.

STEVEN
(mumbling) To write or not to write. That is the question.

A crash is heard behind him. Sheriff Tom Jones (Goldblum) runs in the room.


TOM
Theres been an accident. Reverend Johnson was killed.

STEVEN
What?

TOM
Outside.

STEVEN
How?

TOM
Lukas was involved

Steven gets up and runs after Tom. They burst open the church doors.

EXT: The parking lot.

The parking lot extends for a while past the church. The main road is above them on a hill. A car had fallen off of the road and tumbled onto the parking lot. There arent any cars in the lot except the wreck, Stevens car, and Toms police car. The car skidded halfway across the parking lot. Pieces of the car string out across the lot.

STEVEN
Dear Lord, help us.

TOM
You havent seen the body yet.

We see Lukas (Clayton) on his bicycle on the main road, surveying the damage.

STEVEN
Lukas. Are you OK?

LUKAS
(shouting) I think he was drunk.

STEVEN
Wheres his body.

TOM
Thats the scary part. The car is wrecked but his body is up there.

Tom points to the roof of the church. Tom and Steven back up t get a good look. On the roof is the body of Reverend Johnson nailed to the cross on top of the roof. The camera focuses on Lukas who is smiling.

CUT TO: Steven and Lukas driving home in Stevens Mercedes Benz.

STEVEN
You have to talk to me. How did he get up there?

LUKAS
I dont know. I came later. I told Tom that.

STEVEN
What did you see?

LUKAS
Nothing. I saw the car already crashed in the lot and the guy on the roof. I didnt see what happened.

Steven looks at Lukas.

STEVEN
You sure?

LUKAS
Positive.

STEVEN
Im just relieved that you werent hurt.

Lukas puts his arm around Stevens shoulder.

LUKAS
Aw Dad, you know me. Im indestructable.

The Benz pulls into the driveway of an impressive estate like home. For a reverend, these people live the wealthy life. We also see a Mustang (Lukass car) and an Infinity (Marshas car) in the driveway. Lukas and Steven get out and go

INT: the homefoyer area. Steven takes off his Reverend outfit and Lukas heads to
INT: Lukass bedroom. Lukas shuts the door and locks it. He takes something out of his pocket and throws it on the bed (we dont see whatyet.) He then moves to his stereo. He picks up a CD case (Godsmack) and puts the CD in. He starts his head banging, but we dont hear anything. He pulls a box out from under his bed (its rather large.) He opens it up to reveal a dead dog (mutilated). He rips off one of its legs and starts chewing on it.

STEVEN (O.S.)
Dinners ready!

LUKAS
Im coming.

He puts the leg back in and puts the box back under the bed. He walks out of the room but the camera stays in. It focuses on the object he through on the bed--- A chain with a cross at the end.

CUT TO: DownstairsDining Room. Lukas, Marsha (Weaver), and Steven are sitting down and eating. They are all very quiet.

LUKAS
Im going out to study with a few friends tonight if the two of you dont mind.

STEVEN
Thats fine. Just make sure youre home at a decent hour.

LUKAS
Actually I was hoping to catch a ride to school with Alisha tomorrow. Im studying with her and her dad said it was OK for me to spend the night. Hell drive us over in the morning.

MARSHA
Well. I guess if we cant trust our own son then who can we trust? Right Steven?

STEVEN
I dont really like the idea of a boy and a girl spending the night together, but you guys have been friends forever so.. sure.

Lukas gets up and moves behind Marsha and kisses her.

LUKAS
Thanks Mom.

Lukas moves behind Steven and kisses him.

LUKAS
Thanks Dad.

He runs out of the house

EXT: The driveway. Lukas hops into his mustang and peels out of the driveway. It is interesting to note that his car is red.

CUT TO: An open field. Lukas and a bunch of other people are standing around a fire.

LUKAS
We offer this man to you as a sign of our undying devotion. Lucifer hear me now!

The camera focuses into the middle of the fire. A man is on fire. He is still alive, barely. His mouth is sewn shut.

LUKAS
LUCIFER! HEAR ME NOW!

A clasp of thunder is head.

LUKAS
(Shouting) I summon the power of Lucifer to give me the power I deserve.

A lightning bolt comes out of the sky and blasts the man in the fire. A bolt of electricity shoots out of the man and hits Lukas sending him flying. His followers are stunned.

Lukas gets up. He slowly walks back to the extinguished fire.

LUKAS
God. Fear me.

CUT TO: Alishas room. She is sitting on her bed. Lukas climbs up the side of her house and knocks on her screen.


LUKAS
The screen is in the way again.

Alisha is startled.

ALISHA
Jesus Luke. You scared the crap out of me.

LUKAS
Im sorry.

ALISHA
Hold on.

Alisha gets up and moves to the window. She opens it.

LUKAS
Im slipping!

Alisha opens the window.

ALISHA
Liar.

Lukas falls off the side.

ALISHA
Luke!

Alisha pops off the screen and looks down below. Lukas is standing up, perfectly fine.

LUKAS
What?

ALISHA
Youre OK?

LUKAS
Yep. Fine.

ALISHA
You just fell two stories and you didnt hurt yourself?

LUKAS
Nope. Im coming back up.

Lukas begins to scale the house again.

INT: Alishas room. Lukas climbs through the window.

LUKAS
Hey.


Alisha hits him

ALISHA
You scared me.

LUKAS
Sorry.

Lukas kisses Alisha.

LUKAS
Your father is really out of town?

ALISHA
Yes.

LUKAS
Another God trip?

ALISHA
He spends more time with church stuff then he does me. I wish hed just quit.

LUKAS
I sometimes wish the same thing about my dad.

ALISHA
Yeah.

CUT TO: INT: School hallway. Alisha and Luke are standing at his locker talking when two people walk up.

FREDDIE
Hey Luke. We on for tonight?

NATHAN
Alisha can come too.

ALISHA
I have tons of homework.

LUKAS
Yeah. Were on.
(to Alisha)
Ill catch you later.

Lukas, Freddie, and Nathan walk off.

LUKAS
I told you she cant know.

NATHAN
You havent said anything?

LUKAS
Not yet. The time isnt right.

FREDDIE
Sorry man.

LUKAS
Make sure it doesnt happen again.

Lukas turns and faces the two. They stop in the middle of the hallway. No one is paying attention. Lukass eyes turn red and Freddie and Nathan grab their stomachs in pain.

FREDDIE
Jeez man. Stop.

NATHAN
Fucking stop. Were sorry.

LUKAS
If you mention this to Alisha again, magnify this pain by 100. When Im through with you, youll be begging me to kill you.

Lukass eyes go back to normal. Freddie and Nathan stop grabbing their stomachs.

FREDDIE
Damn.

Lukas walks away from the two.

CUT TO: The church. Steven is standing at the altar. Marsha is sitting in a pew listening to him speak.

STEVEN
and so we close the door on another life. A tragedy has fallen upon this town and a man of the church is dead. A haneous crime nontheless.

MARSHA
Its just my opinion, but, I think you should leave that last bit out.

STEVEN
The haneous part?

MARSHA
Yes. It shouldnt be in the speech. It doesnt fit.

STEVEN
I get what youre saying. OK. Good suggestion.

MARSHA
Keep going.

STEVEN
I will miss Reverend Bob Johnson. He was like a brother to me.

Tom Jones busts into the church again.

TOM
Theres been another murder. In a field. Pastor Phillips was burned alive.

Steven moves toward Tom.

TOM
You cant go out there.

STEVEN
Why do you keep telling me these things?

TOM
Youre my friend. (dramatic pause) I just dont want anything to happen to you.

STEVEN
Thanks Tom.

MARSHA
Is he OK?

TOM
Hes dead. Like I said, he was burned alive. We could barely identify him. People in the area reported hearing thunder and a flash of lightning in the area.

MARSHA
But it didnt rain last night.

STEVEN
Could it have been that?

TOM
No. He was tied down, like he was being sacrificed. Holes around his mouth suggest that his mouth was sewn shut. (pause) They also (pause) cut off his testicles.

STEVEN
You have to find out who is doing this. Stop him before he gets to me.

TOM
Were trying. The killer left no clues.

MARSHA
Why is he going after clergymen?

TOM
What?

STEVEN
Clergymen. Reverends, Pastors, Preachers. You know.

TOM
I dont know but Ive put all of them on alert.


STEVEN
I appreciate you keeping me posted.

TOM
No problem.

Tom exits. Steven and Marsha exchange concerned looks.

CUT TO: INT: An abandoned building. Lukas is standing in front of a small group of people. They are all dressed in red.

LUKAS
3 more sacrifices are needed. Soon my friends we will witness an unholy power that hasnt reached this earth. Not in over 2,000 years.

NATHAN
Lukas is great. Lukas is powerful

LUKAS
Lukas is God.

CUT TO: INT: Stevens house. Steven is sitting on a couch watching TV. The news comes on.

NEWS ANCHOR
Dateline Valleyville. 2 clergymen are dead, a downtown building set ablaze. What is going on in this town that is leaving this town in fear?

Steven turns off the TV.

STEVEN
A building? Tom didnt say anything about a building.

Lukas comes in the front door.

LUKAS (O.S)
Im back!

STEVEN
Im in here.

Lukas walks in the room.

STEVEN
Id rather you stayed home for the next couple days. Another preacher was killed.

LUKAS
What? Another one?

STEVEN
Im worried.

LUKAS
Do they have any leads?

STEVEN
No.

LUKAS
Ive got homework.

Lukas leaves. We hear his footsteps going upstairs.

STEVEN
God help me.

CUT TO: Alishas house. The next day. Lukas and Alisha walk in the door, fresh from school.

ALISHA
Gosh I hate school.

LUKAS
Me too.

Alisha and Lukas drop their bags at the front door area. Alishas father, Matthew (Reilly) comes in the room.

MATTHEW
Im home!

Alisha runs and hugs her father.

LUKAS
Hey Reverend Matt.

MATTHEW
Lukas.

ALISHA
How was your trip?

MATTHEW
Same old, same old. I made some food. I hope you guys are hungry.

LUKAS
Shucks. Am I ever.

ALISHA
Starved.

The 3 walk into---

INT: The kitchen. Alisha, Matthew, and Lukas sit down at the table where the food is already on the table.

LUKAS
This is a huge meal.

ALISHA
I could never eat all this.

Alisha takes small spoonfuls as does Matthew. Lukas loads his plate.

CUT TO: Stevens house. The kitchen. Marsha is cooking something and Steven walks up behind her and kisses the back of her neck.

STEVEN
Smells good.

He wraps his arms around her waist.

STEVEN
What is it?

MARSHA
Im making hamburgers, peas and carrots.

STEVEN
Yum. My mouth is already watering.

Steven backs off and leans against the opposite wall. Marsha turns to face him.

MARSHA
Something wrong?

STEVEN
You know the guy from the Baptist church?

MARSHA
John something.

STEVEN
Josh. I cant remember his last name. Anyway, they found his body in his church. Half of it anyway.

MARSHA
Oh my.

STEVEN
Yeah. There are only 2 clergymen left in the town. Matt and I.

MARSHA
Does Matt know?

STEVEN
We talked this morning. He just got back from a convention.

MARSHA
But I thought Lukas said Matt drove him to school the other day.

STEVEN
Hes been gone for a week.

MARSHA
Oh my. Why would Lukas lie to us like that?

STEVEN
I dont know.

Lukas comes in the front door.

LUKAS (O.S.)
Im home.

STEVEN
Were in here.


Lucas walks in the room.

STEVEN
Is there anything you want to tell us, son?

LUKAS
Nope.

Lukas stares at Steven. Steven tries to talk but no sound comes out.

LUKAS
Am I supposed to tell you something?

MARSHA
You..

Marsha becomes unable to speak.

LUKAS
Come on guys. What do you want me to say? Speak up.

Lukas chuckles and walks off.

STEVEN
That was odd.

MARSHA
What just happened?

STEVEN
I couldnt speak.

MARSHA
Me either.

STEVEN
Something was keeping me from speaking.

MARSHA
Lukas! Dinner is ready!

CUT TO: INT: Dining Room. Lukas, Marsha, and Steven are eating. Lukas is gobbling up food even after he ate the huge meal earlier.

STEVEN
You certainly are hungry.

LUKAS
Yup.

STEVEN
You feel like spending the night at Alishas house now that her dad is back in town?

Lukas stops eating. He is dumbfounded.

LUKAS
Say that again?

STEVEN
Her father was out of town this week. He just got back.

LUKAS
So?

STEVEN
So you slept over at Alishas while her dad wasnt there.

MARSHA
You lied to us.

LUKAS
Didnt you hear me come in? Alisha was sick so I left. I slept here.

STEVEN
You did?

LUKAS
Yeah.

MARSHA
I was up at 6 am. I didnt see or hear you.

LUKAS
I had to be at school at 5:30 for football practice.

STEVEN
Youre not on the team.

LUKAS
Yes I am. We have a game tomorrow night. This will be my first.

MARSHA
I guess we should go.

STEVEN
When were you going to tell me that you joined the team?

LUKAS
I told you.

STEVEN
No you didnt. Stop lying. You were at Alishas last night and you dont play football.

Lukas gets out of his chair.

STEVEN
Sit down!

Lukas moves to the front door.

STEVEN
I said sit down. You arent leaving this house.

Lukas returns with a football jersey in his hand.

STEVEN
What is that?

MARSHA
It looks like a football jersey.

LUKAS
It is a football jersey.

STEVEN
What position?

LUKAS
I play either Tight End or safety.

MARSHA
Well watch the game tomorrow night.

LUKAS
Good. I thought you guys knew.

STEVEN
What about the other night?

LUKAS
You can believe me or not. I came home.

MARSHA
I believe you.

Lukas and Steven exchange looks.

LUKAS
Im going out.

Lukas leaves the house.

MARSHA
Maybe we were wrong.

CUT TO: EXT: The football stadium. The game is about to begin. Lukas, Nathan, and Freddie can be seen on the field. The camera pans to Steven and Marsha sitting next to Matthew and Matthews sister Joanna (Blethyn) in the stands.

JOANNA
I just love football.

The camera moves to the huddle on the field. A boy runs up.

COACH
Theres our star.

The boy trips and falls. He breaks his leg to where the bone is poking out. We see Lukas is smiling.

COACH
Jason! (shouting) MEDIC!

JASON
Shit! Ow!

COACH
This cant be happening. First Bobby says he has food poisoning and says he cant QB, and now our backup breaks his leg.

3 men run up to Jason and lift him off the field.

COACH
Anyone want to be a quarterback for tonight?

LUKAS
Ill do it.

COACH
Youve got it.

Coach runs to the sidelines and talks to some guy. Lukas turns to Nathan and Freddie.

LUKAS
I love football.

FREDDIE
Lets do this.

The gang slap each other a high five.

The camera pans back up into the stadium.

STEVEN
I wonder what happened to Jason?

ANNOUNCER (V.O.)
Welcome to the game folks and is it an interesting one. Both quarterbacks are injured so rookie senior Lukas Phelps will take the reins of the team and hopefully another victory. It is interesting to point out that Lukas has yet to play a game of football.

CUT TO: The Field. The game is on. The following is a Montage played to My Way by Limp Bizkit.

A- Lukas snaps off a pass to Freddie. Freddie runs for a few yards and is sacked by a large man. Freddie is escorted off the field limping. (15 Seconds)

B- Lukas shakes his head. (2 Seconds)

C- Nathan is running down the field and is tackled by 3 men. He is escorted off the field. (10 Seconds)

D- Lukas smiles (2 Seconds)

E- The other team has possession of the ball. They throw it to a wide receiver. Lukas runs at him with incredible speed and sacks the boy who fumbles the ball. The boy is lying on the ground, not moving. Lukas runs the ball for a touchdown. (20 Seconds)

F- The boy who Lukas hit is being carefully moved off the field. The boys parents run down from the stands. (10 Seconds)

G- Lukas throws the football the complete length of the field to someone in the endzone. (10 Seconds)

H- The opposite team is receiving a briefing from their coach. Stop Lukas. (10 Seconds)

I- Lukas has the ball and is running for a touchdown in the middle of the field. Two opposing team members come up on either side and go for the tackle. Lukas jumps up really high in the air and the two boys smack into each other and lie on the field not moving. Lukas reaches the endzone, slams the ball down, and the crowd goes wild. (30 Seconds)

J- The camera pans up to the scoreboard that has the score as HOME: 64 VISITORS: 0 (5 Seconds)

K- The game is over. Lukass team lifts him in the air and carries him off the field. (10 Seconds)

END MONTAGE

INT: Locker room. The boys are cheering Luke, Luke, Luke! etc. when the Coach walks in.

COACH
Lukas. Can I speak to you for a moment?

Lukas walks over to the Coach who takes him by the arm and they walk into the coachs office together.

COACH
I have some sad news. Despite your terrific performance tonight, the first boy you tackled died on his way to the hospital. The other two boys are in a coma.

LUKAS
Jesus.

COACH
I know.

LUKAS
But hey Coach. We get to go to districts!

COACH
Arent you upset?

LUKAS
Nope. Not my fault. They knew the risk when they played the game.

Lukas leaves the room and stands before his teammates.

LUKAS
I have sad news. Even though we shut the other team out, the boy I tackled is dead.

The team is dead silent.

NATHAN
(shouts out) Lukas! MVP! Lukas MVP!

The other team follows. The coach steps out of his office, completely caught off guard by the teams undying support.

CUT TO: The Field. Lukas is standing in the middle of the field after it is deserted. Alisha jogs up to him.

ALISHA
Great game.

LUKAS
You didnt come.

ALISHA
My dad grounded me. He found out that you spent the night.

LUKAS
Shit.

ALISHA
Im sorry.

LUKAS
My dad told him?

ALISHA
Yeah.

LUKAS
Im sorry.

ALISHA
How are you?

LUKAS
Why?

ALISHA
You killed that kid.

LUKAS
His fault. He wanted to play, didnt he?

ALISHA
Thats not nice.

LUKAS
There are too many things in this world that suck for me to be nice.

ALISHA
Youre scaring me.

Lukas faces Alisha. His eyes are glowing red.

ALISHA
(utters a muted scream)

LUKAS
What?

ALISHA
Your eyes!

Alisha runs off the field.

CUT TO: Stevens house. They are having a post-game party. Steven, Marsha, Joanna, Matthew, and Lukas are there.

LUKAS
I have to take a shower for a minute. I really stink.

STEVEN
OK. Lukas.

MARSHA
Youre my star.

The camera follows Lukas up the stairs.

LUKAS
(muttering)
I want to kill them so bad.

Lukas opens the door to the bathroom and takes off his clothes. We see tattoos all over his back. One in particular gives a date. 11-11-01.

LUKAS
Almost ready.

Lukas slaps water on his face and gets in the shower.

Moments later, Matthew comes in the room. Lukas doesnt notice him at first. Matthew stands there watching Lukas take a shower. Matthew begins to take off his clothes and then notices the tattoos on Lukass back that say stuff like Hail Lucifer.

MATTHEW
What the?

Lukas turns and faces Matthew. His eyes are red with fury.

LUKAS
Youve been a bad boy.

Matthew is scared.

MATTHEW
(shakily) Stay away from me.

Lukas turns off the water in the shower and steps out, dry. Completely dry.

MATTHEW
How?

LUKAS
Look at the pathetic preacher whacking off to a teenage boy. In the eyes of God right?

MATTHEW
You stay away from me and my family.

Matthew moves to the door but cannot open it.

LUKAS
Trapped.

MATTHEW
What are you going to do to me?

LUKAS
Beg.

MATTHEW
What?

LUKAS

MATTHEW

LUKAS
Wrong answer.

Lukass right hand becomes a ball of fire. Matthew is frightened beyond belief. He backs up into a corner.

MATTHEW
Help!

LUKAS
No one can hear you scream.

Lukas moves his right hand-ball-of-fire into Matthews crotch.

LUKAS
Faggot.

Matthew screams. Lukass hand returns to normal.

LUKAS
Denounce God.

MATTHEW
What?

LUKAS
Denounce God and Ill let you live.

MATTHEW
Ill never do that.

LUKAS
He wont forgive you anyway. Youre a pedophile.

MATTHEW
No Im not.

LUKAS
Yes you are. You are the sludge of society. Denounce God and Ill let you go.

MATTHEW
I (pauses) God Doesnt Exist.

LUKAS
I want you to say Fuck God.

MATTHEW
No.

LUKAS
Say it.

MATTHEW
Never.

Lukas slaps Matthew across the face.

MATTHEW
Fuck.

LUKAS
Youre halfway there. Now just say God.

MATTHEW
God.

LUKAS
Good job. Now you can go to hell.

An axe materializes on the counter.

MATTHEW
What are you?

LUKAS
You dont want to know.

MATTHEW
You said youd let me live.

LUKAS
You know the thing that sucks about making a deal with the devil? I hardly ever honor it.

Lukas swings the axe at Matthew he screams and we cut to.

CUT TO: Downstairs at the party. Marsha and Joanna are talking. Steven isnt in the room.

JOANNA
My brother was always an shy boy. Never really good with the ladies.

MARSHA
Steven and I met in college. He used to major in Beer and Pizza.

The two ladies chuckle.

Lukas comes downstairs, clean and dressed.

LUKAS
Much better. I feel relaxed. (pause) Wheres dad and Reverend Matt?

MARSHA
Youre dad is fixing us some coffee.

JOANNA
I think he went to use the bathroom.

Lukas turns and walks out of the room.

INT: Kitchen. Steven is making coffee. Lukas walks in.

LUKAS
Hey Dad.

STEVEN
Lukas. Your Coach called while you were in the shower. The other 2 boys died.

LUKAS
Oh no!

STEVEN
Im sorry. It wasnt your fault.

LUKAS
I know.

STEVEN
It happens all the time. Thats the risk someone takes playing such a dangerous sport.

Joanna walks in the room.

JOANNA
Your mother tells me you have quite a collection of DVDs. Might I see them?

LUKAS
Of course.

Lukas and Joanna walk out of the room.

INT: Lukass room. The two walk in and Joanna shuts the door.

JOANNA
Nice room.

LUKAS
Fuck. When were you going to show up?

JOANNA
Im sorry. I couldnt get away.

Lukas kisses Joanna.

LUKAS
Im almost there. One more kill.

JOANNA
Steven?

LUKAS
I have to kill him and Marsha. Its the parental exclusion clause.

JOANNA
Yeah. So what did you do with Matthew?

LUKAS
The faggot came in and tried to whack off while I was showering. Can you believe it?

JOANNA
You killed him?

LUKAS
Damn right I did.

JOANNA
I just stopped by to see if you guys were on track and it seems like you are.

LUKAS
Youre going?

JOANNA
I have to get back.

LUKAS
Want to go through the front door so I have less explaining?

JOANNA

I dont want to kill yet. I still have to get rid of Matthews body.

JOANNA

Joanna vanishes into thin air.

LUKAS
Fucking Lucifer. Sending people to check on me.

Lukas moves to the other side of the room and pulls out the box. He lifts it up on the bed and opens it. The dog is gone. Inside is Matthews body. He closes the box and carries it out of the room with him.

INT: Downstairs.

LUKAS
Gotta run out for a minute.

Lukas runs outside and across the street. He opens up the neighbors trashcan and puts the box inside.

LUKAS
There we go.

INT: Downstairs. Lukas walks back in. Marsha walks up to him.

MARSHA
Whered Joanna go?

LUKAS
I just walked Reverend Matt and Joanna out. He was sick and needed to go home right away.

MARSHA
I should call them.

LUKAS
They just left. They wouldnt be home.

MARSHA
Good point.

Steven walks in the room.

STEVEN
Did they walk?

LUKAS
What?

STEVEN
Their car is still in the driveway.

(dramatic pause)

LUKAS
No it isnt.

The three of them look outside. Their three cars are in the driveway, but so is a fourth.

LUKAS
Shit.

Alisha steps out of the fourth car.

STEVEN
Watch your mouth.

LUKAS
Its Alisha.

STEVEN
Oh.

MARSHA
That bad?

Lukas walks outside and stops Alisha as shes halfway up the walk. He grabs her by the arm and they hop back in her car and drive off.

INT: Stevens house.

STEVEN
Were going to follow them.

CUT TO: The churchs parking lot (the one that Steven is the Reverend for). Alishas car is in the lot and Alisha and Lukas are standing outside talking. We cannot see Steven or Marsha.

ALISHA
What is wrong with you Lukas?

LUKAS
Please. Not now.

ALISHA
Why are you so angry?

LUKAS
Because. I dont want to hurt you. You have to stay away.

ALISHA
What?

LUKAS
Please. I cant tell you why.

ALISHA
You cant do this to me.

LUKAS
(shouting) Listen to me! You have to leave me alone!

ALISHA
No. If youre having problems we can work them out.

Lukas sheds a tear and his eyes turn red.

LUKAS
(soft and shakily) No. Please. No.

ALISHA
What?

Lukas grabs Alisha by the throat and shoves her up against the side of the car and proceeds to choke her.

ALISHA
(while being choked) Lukas. Stop. Lukas.

LUKAS
(sobbing) I want to. I dont want to do this. Hes making me.

Lukas chokes her with one arm and uses the other one to lift up his shirt to show her a tattoo on his chest that is some kind of satanic symbol. Alishas eyes grow wide.

LUKAS
Im sorry.

Lukas moves his other hand up and proceeds to snap Alishas neck. Her lifeless body falls to the ground. Another car pulls into the parking lot and stops next to Alishas car. Nathan and Freddie step out.

LUKAS
Get rid of her body.

NATHAN
Look man. Im not so sure about this.

Lukas punches Nathans face and Nathan falls to the ground lifeless.

LUKAS
Freddie. You have any doubts?

FREDDIE
Naw man. Im good.

Freddie picks up Nathans body and tosses it in the trunk. He does the same with Alishas. Lukas walks away from the scene a bit and notices his parents car parked behind the building.

INT: The main area. Steven and Marsha are ducked in between pews and Steven is calling on his cell phone.

STEVEN
(quietly) Tom get to the church now. Arrest Lukas. Ill tell you later.

We can see the parking lot through the front doors. Lukas suddenly jumps really far up in the air.

MARSHA
Did you see that?

Lukas comes crashing down through the roof of the building into the aisle a few pews away from Marsha and Steven.

LUKAS
Mommy! Daddy! Im home!

Lukas raises his arms in the air and all the pews levitate off of the ground. Marsha and Steven are exposed. Lukas looks at the two of them who are scared out of their minds. Lukas waves his arms backwards and the pews pile up in front of the door so no one can get in.

STEVEN
Run Marsha.

Marsha runs out of the room.

Lukas moves to Steven who is in a fighters position. Lukas kicks Steven to the ground and goes after his mother.

CUT TO: Another room in the church. There are tables and chairs and the room is pitch black. We see Marsha huddled in a corner. We can hear Lukas walk into the room.

LUKAS
I can smell you.

Marsha starts to cry.

LUKAS
Ah. Fear is always the worst enemy. It comes at the worst times.

The lights come on.

LUKAS
Did you think I would leave the lights off? Come on now?

We can see Marsha easily in the corner.

MARSHA
Please, No.

Lukas moves toward Marsha who stands up. She begins to throw folding chairs at Lukas. He stops each one in mid air and flings them off to the side.

MARSHA
What are you?

LUKAS
If I kill you, my duty is complete and my soul is free.

MARSHA
What (pause) are you?

LUKAS
Your son.

MARSHA
Youre no son of mine.

Steven sneaks up behind Lukas with a baseball bat and whacks him over the head. The bat breaks.

LUKAS
Good ole Dad is back.

Lukas turns to face Steven who is trembling.

STEVEN
You killed all those preachers.

LUKAS
And Matthew.

MARSHA
Why?

Lukas rips off his shirt to reveal the tattoos.

LUKAS
Enough questions.

Lukass eyes turn red again.

Steven looks around the room and notices a silver cross on the wall next to him. It is quite large. He grabs is and backs away from Lukas.

STEVEN
Stay away or Ill hit you again.

LUKAS
Oh yeah.

Lukas raises his right arm and all the folding chairs in the room levitate off the ground.

LUKAS
How would you like to be smacked in the face with a hundred chairs?

Marsha moves her way out of the room and Lukas doesnt notice.

LUKAS
Dad (cocks his head to the right) You wouldnt hurt your son would you?

STEVEN
You controlled me before. Why not now?

LUKAS
I cannot control Gods creations inside of a church. Only manmade creations.

STEVEN
This cross?

LUKAS
Crosses are a loophole too. They are considered God made.

Steven stabs Lukas through the chest with the cross. Lukas drops to the ground and begins bleeding black blood.

LUKAS
The other loophole.

STEVEN
Go to hell.

Steven pulls the cross out of Lukass chest and prepares for another stab when Lukas drops to the ground, dead. His body turns to dust.

STEVEN
Its OK.

Marsha runs back into the room and the two run out of a back door.

Toms cop car is waiting

EXT: Behind the church.

TOM
You guys OK?

STEVEN
Thanks Tom.

TOM
Wheres Lukas?

STEVEN
Long gone. Its quite a story. Ill tell it to you sometime.

INT: Focusing on where the body was. The camera shoots from a first person point of view of Lukass soul. It flies around the room for a second and looks at the three people outside. It shoots out the door and looks at Tom, then at Steven, and finally at Marsha. Lukass soul enters Marshas body. Her body sort of jumps back.

STEVEN
You OK?

MARSHA
Temporary problem. Thats all.

TOM
Lets get you guys out of here.

The camera backs off as Tom, Steven, and Marsha enter the car.

LUKAS (V.O.)
Thats the funny thing about being me.
